Tara McClary Reeves is a passionate teacher of the joys and challenges that come from being a committed follower of Jesus Christ. She is the author of six books, including the award-winning children’s book, The Knight and the Firefly, and family devotional, Point Me to Jesus. August 2017 celebrated the release of Is Your Dad a Pirate? In this tender account loosely based on her childhood experiences, Tara shares how her family adapted to changes once her father, Clebe McClary, was back from war after giving his left eye and arm behind enemy lines in Vietnam.

Is Your Dad a Pirate? went #1 in Amazon's new release category. Subsequently, Tara was interviewed on numerous radio programs; wrote an internationally circulated op ed for FOX News entitled, "The True Meaning of Independence Day from the Daughter of a Marine Vet Who (Almost) Lost It All;" and appeared on the nationally syndicated Hallmark Channel's "Home and Family Show" championing patriotism; the sacrifices of our brave troops on the frontlines; and the heroism of their spouses on the home front. In January 2023, Tara and Amanda Jenkins released, The Chosen for Kids, a 40-day devotional based on the ground-breaking TV series The Chosen.

The daughter of Clebe and Deanna McClary, Tara grew up on Pawleys Island, SC and graduated from Furman University. She attended Birmingham Theological Seminary in Birmingham, AL for post graduate studies until she was summoned back to her beloved home state by then Governor-elect David Muldrow Beasley to serve as Personal Assistant to the First Lady of South Carolina, Mary Wood Beasley.

Tara resides in Greensboro, NC and is a loving wife to Lee and doting mother to twenty-three-year-old twins, Caroline and Daniel, and eleven-year-old Harrison. During the pandemic, Tara hosted “Point Me to Jesus,” a podcast highlighting people and ministries proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. Currently, she teaches a weekly women’s Bible study and is a sought-after speaker.
